Griffith Film School spreads awareness through student initiative

Whether you were a high school student, primary school student, industry student or a university student, 2020 has been a tough year for those striving to learn, achieve and grow academically or professionally.  For this reason, we were even more humbled when we were contacted by the incredible team at the LiveLab production arm of the Griffith Film School as one of the nominated charities for their 2020 assessment piece.

The Film industry as a whole has been one of those industries that has been hit extremely hard with the social distancing restrictions and lockdowns instigated by the pandemic of COVID-19 so we were grateful that the opportunity to work with the team from Griffith Film School was still able to happen, albeit with a few social distancing requirements.

For the second year running we were able to be a part of their production where the students are assigned to create content for a not-for-profit organisation.

After meeting with the talented bunch of students allocated to make a production piece for LIVIN, we decided to use the opportunity to make a bit of an overview of what we do at LIVIN with a spotlight on our extended 'family', our incredible fundraisers who are the reason we can continue to keep doing the work that we do.

"At LIVIN we are very mindful how important it is to acknowledge those who support the charity either through fundraising initiatives, wearing LIVIN merchandise or just being a part of spreading awareness for mental health." Said LIVIN Fundraising and Events Coordinator, Kelly Malloy. "Through this project with the enthusiastic team of students and support from the Griffith Film School, we wanted to give a brief insight on how important to our supporters are to the organisation. The support we receive is the reason we are here and we wanted to highlight some of the of the work we do through this support, but more so, to reinforce that the work we do is only possible because of this support for which we are extremely grateful."

We would like to thank all of the students and faculty from the Griffith Film School for their ongoing support and incredible work and helping us to continue to share our message and spread awareness of LIVIN to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
