LIVIN goes skyhigh with Skypoint Q1 Stair Challenge 2021
Posted by Top Livin on
At the beginning of 2020 we were pumped with excitement about taking LIVIN to new heights through our charity partnership with the iconic Skypoint Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge.
Little did we know that 2020 had something else in store for us all and like many major sporting and community events scheduled to be hosted, the Stair Challenge was postponed due to the global pandemic that was and still is COVID-19.
But one thing we have learned throughout this challenging year is the best direction to go is up which is why we were over the moon when it was officially announced the Skypoint Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge is back for 2021 through the support of Q1 Skypoint (Ardent Leisure), Choice Homes and Stair Challenge Australia and will be bigger and better than ever before!
"We couldn't be happier about partnering with LIVIN for the 2021 Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge." Said Steve Corrie from Stair Challenge Australia. "The organisation do such great work in the area of mental health education and right now we suspect this is needed more than ever."
The Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge is an anticipated community event on the Gold Coast calendar and is embraced by locals and businesses as a novel way to bring people together to not only test themselves but raise funds and awareness for a local charity organisation.
"Thanks to over 4,400 having participated in the Stair Challenge since it first began in 2015, we have donated over $195,000 to local charities." Said the General Manager of Skypoint, Dylan Hunt. "After the year we've all had in 2020, we want 2021 to be our biggest campaign yet and increase this total by $50,000 for the LIVIN Organisation."
The event which challenges participants to scale the 77 floors of the Q1 Building in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast invites entrants to walk, run or even crawl their way to the top as the event raises funds and awareness for LIVIN and our message that It Ain't Weak to Speak.
"LIVIN is beyond grateful to be the chosen charity for this year's Skypoint Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge and we are all excited to be a part of this awesome iconic event." Said LIVIN CEO, Casey Lyons. "It will be a great way for us to kick off 2021 and get out there amongst our local community."
With a goal of getting as many participants as possible and raising enough funds for LIVIN to send out our facilitators to deliver our LIVINWell School Programs to 50 school communities across South East Queensland in 2021, we are encouraging everyone to get on board!
Whether it be signing up to do the actual stair climb, supporting a friend who's locked in for the challenge or even just spreading the message of the event so we can spread awareness on mental health, it all makes a difference and allows us to keep on working together to bring the community together and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
