Eager Beaver Surf Contest for LIVIN
Before the Gold Coast beaches were shut due to the massive swells hitting the shores, Dan Biskin and his awesome team held the 5th Annual Eager Beaver Charity Surf Contest at Palm Beach to raise awareness for mental illness.
The popular surf contest was founded on a very similar platform as LIVIN with friends rallying together and bringing this event to life in memory of one of their great mates Nathan Jagar (aka “Beaver”) whom they lost in 2013 after suffering from mental illness for a number of years.
In its fifth year, the Eager Beaver Charity Surf Contest had a fantastic turn out which supported their chosen charity LIVIN. Not only did this event raise much needed funds for our organization but more importantly, raised awareness for our cause to break the stigma around those suffering from mental illness and pushing our message that It Ain’t Weak to Speak.
We would like to give a massive thanks to everyone who pitched in and helped out for this epic event. Your time, dedication and commitment to bringing this event to life every year helps raise awareness for an important cause - getting people to talk about mental health and illness.
We would also like to pass on a huge congrats to all those that competed in this year’s surf contest especially the winners of the day, Ty Richardson and Joel Parkinson. If you would like to nominate LIVIN as your preferred charity for your next fund-raising event, check out our LIVIN Fundraising Page for all the info.
We welcome any event, big or small who wants to spread our message and awareness on mental health.
