Episode 10: How to Rebuild Self Confidence & Self Love After a Setback

Episode by LIVIN Co-Founder: Sam Webb

In this episode of Webbs of Wisdom, I chat about how you can rebuild self confidence and self love after a setback.

We all feel a myriad of emotions as we navigate the ups and downs of life. Painful circumstances can’t always be avoided and it’s often during times of disappointment, relationship breakdown and failure that negative thought patterns have the potential to creep in. But I’ve got good news folks.  It doesn’t have to be that way. You can overcome those thoughts, take charge of your life and move forward with confidence.

There was a time in my life when I let the inner critic run rampant and I believed all sorts of lies about myself that made me feel like a failure. With the help of some great practical tools that I’ll share with you today, I learned that I could challenge the inner critic and not let those negative thoughts rule my life.

We are our own worst critic and unless we take a stand, the shame spiral will lead you down a path of low self esteem and a lack of confidence.  One of the keys to breaking that cycle is to practice self compassion and I’ve got some great tips on how you can do that on a day to day basis.

Life is filled with challenges and uncertainties and we are given so many opportunities to learn through those circumstances. You might not get it right straight away and that’s ok.  Be kind to yourself. It’s how you deal with adversity that makes you better the next time around.  Life will always give you another opportunity to grow.
